antioxidant role in anti-aging?

By

Do antioxidant JUST protect skin cells to prevent aging, or can they actually rair damage?

Basically anti-oxidants are preventative for aging…
To use non-sciencey terms they kind of neutralise or counter the bad aging causing chemicals called ‘free-radicals’
free radicals cause wear and tear of cells – anti-oxidants prevent this
hope this helps

good sources of anti-oxidants are
green tea
TOMATOES!!!!

They don’t repair cell damage, they prevent free radicals from causing more damage.

It’s not just skin cells either, its every cell in your body, atleast, thats the prevailing theory.

Antioxidants are molecules which are able to donate electrons to Oxygen. Oxygen in a free radical stage will move amongst cells and cause damage by pulling electrons from different molecules in cells. Your body has the means to fight the effects of oxidation by oxygen but it has limitations. Antioxidents are the "front line" if you want to look at it that way, against Free Radicals.
