Anyone Know-where to buy resveratrol?
ByI saw this show on CNN about this antioxidant, anti-aging product called
resveratrol that is a part of the red grapes that has been isolated and scientists are saying that it is great to protect from heart disease and is an anti-aging agent. Anyone have any experience with this and know where to buy the best kind?
Any health or vitamin store.

You can buy resveratrol from several different sources now. However 99% of the resveratrol products you’ll find are junk. Here’s why:
You need at least 250mg daily to get the full benefits of it. Smaller doses will provide moderate antioxidant benefits, but if you want an antioxidant, there are better alternatives, and you need a complete spectrum of different antioxidants to combat the various free radicals out there. Most resv products out there have far less than that 250 mg minimum, so they’re really a waste of your money.
Also, most resv products you’ll find are in a powder or tablet form, and the resveratrol molecules are arranged in really large clumps. Most of the resveratrol is broken down in the stomach before it reaches the large intestine where it is absorbed into the blood stream. The little that does reach the large intestine is difficult to absorb because the molecular weight of the resv molecules is too great, basically it’s clumped together. It’s too big to be readily absorbed before it breaks down.
Resveratrol is a highly reactive and fragile molecule. Again, most resv products drop the ball here as well, because they mix it with ingredients that then react with it and destroy its original, beneficial properties before you even take it!
To be effective, a resveratol product has to have over 250mg, be in a liquid solution (not suspension), and be processed in such a way that the other ingredients it’s mixed with are modified/stabilized so that they don’t destroy the resv molecules. Oxygen, for example, changes the resveratrol molecule and drastically reduces its effectiveness. So you need a product that deoxygenates the other ingredients, including the water, and eliminates any excess air from the packaging.
There’s surprisingly a lot to it! Of course most companies don’t care about any of this, because they know that if they just say that the product has resveratrol in it, people are going to buy it, especially because it’s been on 60 minutes and Barbara Walters and Oprah and stuff.
Don’t waste your money!
Here are the best three resveratrol products I’ve found:
Lifetime Vitamins Liquid Resveratol- This one has 300mg, but the resveratrol is not micronized or stabilized in any way, and it’s a suspension not a solution. This means that most of it is going to be broken down into useless components before it reaches the large intestines.
RevGenetics Nitro250 – Capsules- This one has 250mg per liquid capsule, it’s nitrogen protected, which means the excess oxygen is replaced with nitrogen to stabilize the resv molecule, and it says the resveratrol is micronized. But- it’s a suspension, not a solution, which means the molecules are still going to be too big. And, it uses Tween 80, which is ethoxylated as part of its chemical manufacturing process. This creates 1,4, Dioxane which is a serious estrogen mimic, endocrine disrupter and cancer causing agent.
Sisel International Eternity Liquid Resveratrol blend- This one has 250mg resveratrol in a liquid solution. The resv molecules are micronized, or as they say, nanosized to a molecular weight of 228, which means it’s small enough to penetrate skin and mucous membranes, which are less porous than the large intestine. The instructions on this product say to swish it around in your mouth for 1 minute before you swallow so that the resveratrol enters through your inner cheeks and mouth and straight into your blood stream. This allows the resveratrol to skip the stomach so it doesn’t get broken down. They also use nitrogen and deoxygenated ingredients, and they do something called microencasulation which is supposed to protect the resveratrol that does go through the stomach after you swallow it. I would say that this one is the best option because it seems to address all the problems of resveratrol being such a reactive, fragile substance, and it has a high enough amount.
Sorry for writing a novel about this, but it’s just not as simple as it appears to be on the surface.

I use resveratrol and I feel a lot better since doing so. If you check out the site below they have an excellent video buy Barbara Walters on the benefits of resveratrol.
You can also get a free trial offer of resveratrol.
