Can Resveratrol Rebuild Body Cells?
Posted by: | Comments
Can resveratrol rebuild the cells of the body? This article looks at the facts presented in the most recent studies. Some of the advertising claims that supplement manufacturers use are not exactly factual. There is no doubt that resveratrol consumption is good for you, depending on how you consume it, but it is not the only nutrient that you need to protect your body cells and extend your natural lifespan.
As an antioxidant, resveratrol protects the cells of the body from free radical damage, the primary, but not the only cause of aging. Other nutrients, such as carnosine are needed to protect the cells from glycation, which is worse than free radical damage, because it causes the formation of toxins, which has a detrimental cascading effect that includes further free radical damage.
To date, most of the studies have been conducted using cell lines in the laboratory or animal models. Some of the information that you will find on the internet is outdated. Recently, I read one overview stating that more animal studies were needed. That review was 10 years old and had not been updated or replaced or removed, which is not unusual.
Numerous animal studies have now been conducted, as well as the studies using human volunteers. One of the major pharmaceutical companies is developing a resveratrol-based drug to treat type II diabetes. In the future, there may be numerous drugs based on this antioxidant. For those of us that simply want to protect our long-term health, supplementation is the answer. The antioxidant occurs naturally in red wine, but drinking more red wine is not the answer, for numerous reasons, including the health of the liver.
What do the studies show? There are thousands of them. So, theres no way to list all of the results here, but Ill try to cover the basics.
Bone Cell Healthin animal studies, adding resveratrol to the diet increased the animals bone densityin cattle showing degeneration of the spinal discs, the antioxidant slowed the degenerationreduces inflammation
Brain Cell and Nerve Cell Healthmay prove useful in treating Alzheimers, as it protects the nerves from free radical damagebeneficial in treating multiple sclerosis in rodentsenhances balance and coordination
Heart Cell Healthimproves the function of the heart and reduces cholesterol levels
Cancer Preventionprotects against head, neck, breast, lung and prostate cancer
DNA Damage
According to researchers at Harvard, DNA damage is the universal cause of aging in animals. The DNA within the cells contains numerous genes. Some of them signal that it is time for the cell to die. This is necessary when a cancer cell forms. Sirtuins are molecules within the cells of the body that insure that these genes do not signal the death of healthy cells. Resveratrol activates sirtuins, preventing the death of healthy cells.
resveratrol Supports Body Cell Rebuilding
So, it does not actually rebuild cells, it supports your bodys ability to reproduce healthy cells and protects the DNA within the cells from damage. For supplementation, your best bet is a multi-nutritional supplement that contains resveratrol, carnosine and the basic nutrients that the cells of the body need to function optimally. The Connection Between Resveratrol and Prostate Cancer
Posted by: | Comments
Are you or do you know someone who is facing prostate cancer? Even though cancer is still a deadly disease it is not as frightening as it once was. There are many survivors of cancer. I know several survivors of prostate cancer and reading the research on resveratrol and prostate cancer gives me hope that if my husband, brothers or other loved ones get prostate cancer they too will live through it.
Resveratrol is a phytochemical contained in red grapes. This substance has been shown to inhibit prostate cancer cell growth, partly because of its antioxidant properties from the phytochemicals.
Further resveratrol prostate cancer research shows a diet high in phytochemicals in Asian men may attribute to the low risk of developing prostate cancer. Eating a diet rich with plant based foods helps to prevent cancer. Men with family members who have had prostate cancer should be kept well informed of the relationship between resveratrol and prostate cancer, so they can help stop the cancer before it begins or stop its growth if they already have it.
Researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham have discovered in their resveratrol prostate cancer study that when male mice were fed resveratrol they showed an 87 percent reduction in their risk of developing prostate tumors that contained the worst kind of cancer.
You may ask how is this resveratrol prostate cancer research applicable to humans? The amount of resveratrol, used in the study with the mice would be equivalent to the amount found in one bottle of red wine. I am by no means suggesting you go out and drink a bottle of red wine. That would not be beneficial to your health at all.
The best way to get the amount of resveratrol you need is by taking a dietary supplement that contains the extract. I take a nutritional supplement that contains this cancer-fighting ingredient. It also contains other great substance like CoQ10 and ginkgo biloba along with essential vitamins and minerals.
So if you or a loved one wants to take advantage of the resveratrol and prostate cancer connection, check out my web site to find this great supplement. Resveratrol Use and How it Can Benefit You
Posted by: | Comments
Have you ever thought about the benefits of resveratrol use? Resveratrol is an antioxidant that is very powerful at helping to combat diseases. Diseases like cancer, heart problems, and strokes plus other health concerns like fatigue and obesity.
Taking a supplement with resveratrol in it makes sense with todays health woes lurking around every corner. I belong to a medium sized church with a prayer chain, and it never fails, there is a prayer request in my email box almost daily for someones health concern, mainly cancer or stints being put in the heart.
Growing up I belonged to about the same size church in a different city, yet I dont remember the amount of prayer request for health ills like there is now. It seems like there are more and more diseases attacking more and more people. And I dont think my part of the country is any different than anywhere else.
Please understand I am not a doctor or a health care professional, so dont take this as professional medical advice, but as far as I am concerned resveratrol use and other beneficial supplements is necessary to stay healthy and enjoy a long life span.
You may have read red wine is good for your heart. What you may not know is it is the resveratrol in the skin of the red grapes that is one component of the red wine that makes it healthy for you to consume. I am not advocating you get all your resveratrol drinking red wine. I am just pointing out where researchers have found the health benefits come from.
A sure way to get the amount of resveratrol you need every day is by taking a supplement that includes it in the ingredients. The one I take has other great nutrients in it to help combat disease and keep you healthy, like <a href=”http://www.your-natural-supplements-site.info/”>CoQ10, ginkgo biloba</a>, essentials minerals and vitamins, plus other herbal extracts. An added benefit is you get all of them combined for just one low price, as opposed to buying them all separately and paying much more.
Now that you know some information about resveratrol use, check out my web site. Youll find lots of good health information there concerning nutritional supplements. Youll also discover which one I use and why I consider it the best and where to get at one low price.
